| Race Summary |
|---|
DEPUTY SERVICE gained the lead near the inside early, was engaged by LORD LOVAT
in the upper stretch, then while coming out slightly and brushing with that one,
proved gamely best under urging. LORD LOVAT, never far back, raced three or four
wide, went after the winner entering the lane, gained almost even terms for the
final furlong, then could not get past while exchanging brushes with DEPUTY
SERVICE in the final sixteenth. WORLD EMISSARY, within striking distance when
settling four wide, came out six wide at the eighth pole, had aim but couldn't
offer the needed late gain. LAUNCH A LEGEND, well placed and racing near the
inside most of the way, was empty when the test came. MISTER SULTRY, bumped at
the start, was outrun to the lane and improved position. HUM THAT TUNE had no
rally. TIMBER HUNT leaned at the start bumping MISTER SULTRY, was outsprinted
early, raced near the inside and improved position. DA MULLETT, up close between
horses early, raced four wide and tired. GALLANT GAYLORD tracked the pace for a
half while five wide and weakened approaching the stretch.
